The site may store the theme preference so it remains consistent across visits. The editor may separately store a local recovery draft.
Google’s CMP may use browser storage to remember privacy choices and avoid asking for the same choice on every page.
These functions support the service requested by the visitor and are not used to build an advertising profile.
Analytics choice
Where Google’s CMP displays a privacy message, its analytics choice updates analytics storage through Consent Mode v2.
When analytics storage is denied, the Google tag adjusts its behavior and may send consent state and cookieless measurements under advanced Consent Mode.
Advertising choice
The AdSense code is present so Google’s CMP can collect the applicable choices before AdSense evaluates personalized, non-personalized, or limited ad delivery.
When valid publisher and slot identifiers are configured, Google AdSense may request responsive ads in marked placements in accordance with the available consent signals.
Ad placements are kept distinct from controls and primary editor actions. Pages do not show more advertising than publisher content.
Change or withdraw a choice
For visitors shown a European regulations message, Google adds a privacy and cookie settings link at the bottom of the approved site. That link reopens the Google CMP so a previous choice can be changed or withdrawn.
